Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a detail-oriented CMM Operator to program and operate CMM equipment using Calypso and Polyworks. You will read blueprints, inspect forgings and related components, and verify conformance to required specifications and tolerances.

The role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, read calipers and multimeters, and maintain precise documentation. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is preferred, with 3+ years of relevant CMM experience.

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate CMM using Calypso and Polyworks.
  • Read blueprints and plan working procedures.
  • Inspect forgings, die blocks and electrodes for conformance to specifications.
  • Measure dimensions and calculate angles from reference points.
  • Determine discrepancies and recommend corrections.
  • Maintain records of customer approvals.
  • Assist in gauge calibration and certification to NIST.
  • Perform dock audits and MPI setup as required.
  • Evaluate billet temperatures using thermocouples for studies.
