Job summary

MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks an Experienced Clinical Nurse to manage patient outcomes across the continuum of care, coordinating direct patient care with a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an RN license, and at least one year of acute care experience, working 7:00am–7:00pm, Monday to Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.

Job description

The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an RN license, and at least one year of nursing experience in an acute care setting. Candidates must work the 7:00am - 7:00pm shift, Monday - Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays.

The G12E Palliative unit is an 18-bed unit within the medical oncology cohort. Expert palliative care is provided to patients with recurrent and/or advanced cancer with complex physical, psychological, or spiritual concerns. Although the patients seen in the unit are in varying stages of their illness, all seek restoration to maximum symptom control, function, and comfort.

Hourly breakdown of salary range:

• Minimum $32.70 - Midpoint $50.48 - Maximum $68.26

EDUCATION

• Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Nursing.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
