Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Redwood City, CA is seeking a climbing arborist to join our outdoor, on-site team. Your work will focus on pruning, removals, and health maintenance of trees, with training provided for all required safety and climbing certifications.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using Davey’s DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Act as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal safely and skillfully for clients.
• Execute pruning, thinning, deadwood removal, and canopy work.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain all tools and equipment.
