Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Milford, OH is seeking a climbing arborist to trim and remove trees, keep surrounding areas safe, and contribute to greenspace stewardship. Your office is outdoors and you’ll join a dedicated crew to deliver professional tree care in various environments.

You’ll use DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems, operate equipment, and participate in safety and training programs. Growth opportunities and an employee-owned culture support continued career development.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and physical outdoor work.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree orientation and safety training on hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader as part of a team.
• Perform pruning and removal tasks safely and skillfully.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood; install cables/bracing and lightning protection.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain tools and equipment.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
