Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Long Grove, IL is seeking an experienced climbing arborist for an on-site position. You will climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems, work with a crew, and perform pruning and removals to maintain tree health and safety.

You will operate tools and equipment, install cables and supports, and participate in safety training. Davey offers benefits, PTO, advancement, and a strong employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred licenses/certificates as required by state law

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:
