Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a climbing arborist to join our outdoor team. You will climb trees, prune and remove limbs, and work with a ground crew to deliver safe and top‑quality tree care services.

Starting pay ranges from $24 to $27 per hour, with benefits and opportunities for advancement. The office is outdoors and each day offers a new view as you maintain trees across the region.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors is essential.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation and First Aid/CPR courses on hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using Davey’s DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal safely and skillfully.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection as needed.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Ensure safety and provide quality tree care.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
