Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Mokena, IL is seeking an Experienced Climbing Arborist to join our on-site team. You\'ll climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems, support ground crew, and perform pruning and removal with safety and skill.

Responsibilities include pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, installing cables and braces, removing hazardous trees, and maintaining tools. We offer PTO, holidays, 401(k) with company match, health plan, and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
