The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking an Experienced Climbing Arborist in Burr Ridge, IL. The role involves climbing, pruning and removal of trees, using multiple climbing systems, and coordinating with ground crews to provide safe, high-quality tree care services.

The position requires outdoor work, strong safety awareness, and the ability to complete company orientation and safety courses on hire. Starting pay is $25-$30 per hour with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Interest in outdoor work and field tasks.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.
• Preferred pesticide licenses/certificates if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader in a safety-focused team.
• Perform pruning, removal and related tree care tasks for clients.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Provide health and safety services for trees and surrounding areas.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
