Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist for Augusta, GA. Your office is outdoors with a fresh view each day, performing pruning, removal, and health-improvement work on trees.

You’ll climb with DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS, work with a ground crew, and use various tools while adhering to safety standards. Company offers growth, benefits, and industry-leading training.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Preferred: relevant pesticides licenses and certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Trim and remove trees, remove diseased or dying limbs to improve health and safety.
• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader as an active team member.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, lifts.

What You’ll Do:

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
