Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking an Experienced Client / Project Manager to join the Aviation Midwest group, overseeing major airport and transportation projects from Middleton, WI, West Allis, WI, or De Pere, WI. You will lead project teams, manage scope, and coordinate with clients and agencies to deliver complex infrastructure improvements.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in transportation or airport engineering, with ownership of leadership, QA/QC, and mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in transportation, airport, or municipal engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams and manage scope development and execution.
• Collaborate with clients and partner agencies to solve challenges and deliver infrastructure improvements.
• Pursue and lead opportunities in business development and win work.
• Prepare reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies and permits.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff; perform QA/QC reviews.

As a result, a full-time position is available for an Experienced Client / Project Manager to join our Aviation Midwest group at any of the following office locations: Middleton, WI (greater Madison area); West Allis (Milwaukee area), and De Pere, WI.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading project teams, including management of scope development and execution
• Collaborating with our clients and partner agencies to solve challenges and deliver complex infrastructure improvements through communication and innovative engineering solutions
• Partnering with upper management in business development through pursuing and leading opportunities and winning work
• Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies and permits related to planning and engineering design

• Leading proactive client interactions and communications with regards to federal programming, and state and government agencies
• Performing QA/QC tasks
• Mentoring and providing technical guidance for less experienced technical staff
• Maintaining familiarity with technical requirements and regulations affecting the aviation industry and other potential consulting opportunities
• Other duties as assigned

A valid driver's license and approximately 10% - 20% travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have the following:

• A bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the fields of transportation, airport, or municipal engineering.

The ideal candidate will have any/all the following:

• At least 10 or more years of relevant experience is highly preferred
• PE license is preferred
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience with:
• Leading airport design projects (taxiways, aprons, runways, etc.)
• Serving as the project manager on airport planning and design projects
• Mentoring and leading engineering project teams
• Preparing scope of work, fees, contracts, plans, specifications, capital improvement plans, program management, or related experience
• Performing QA/QC reviews
• Performing business development activities
