Job summary

North American Rail Solutions (NARS) seeks a reliable Class A CDL Driver to transport heavy equipment and materials to job sites. You will load, secure, and unload loads, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintain DOT records.

The role requires extensive driving time, strict safety adherence, and independent work capability. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of Class A experience, a valid CDL and medical card, and the ability to pass DOT tests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years of proven experience driving Class A vehicles.
• Valid Class A driver’s license and medical card required.
• TWIC may be required.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug test.
• Must operate manual transmission (13 speed).
• Strong knowledge of Federal and State DOT laws.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong hand-eye coordination.
• Must lift and carry items weighing at least 50 pounds.
• Proficient with GPS and routing systems.

Responsibilities

• Secure heavy equipment or material for transport per regulations.
• Load/unload equipment with proper securement for transport.
• Drive up to 11 hours with a max of 14 hours total per DOT rules.
• Operate a Class-A truck on flatbed/low-boy under various conditions.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and document per DOT guidelines.
• Report safety issues and repairs as needed.
• Perform minor vehicle maintenance to ensure safety.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Maintain required duty status and mileage records.
