Job description

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an Experienced Civil Engineer to join our collaborative and innovative Aviation team on military and federal projects. This position is available at any of our Mead & Hunt office locations nationwide, which include: Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Tampa, FL; San Diego, CA; Lansing, MI; Denver, CO; St. Louis, MO; Dallas, TX; Minneapolis, MN; and many others.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and leading military and federal aviation engineering projects
  • Experience with aviation and federal site design is preferred
  • Evaluating and analyzing existing projects
  • Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and permits
  • Leading proactive client interactions, marketing and communications with federal aviation clients
  • Performing QA/QC tasks including leading design reviews
  • Serving as the project manager and mentoring project staff; and serving as the onsite project engineer on construction projects

A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have all the following:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
  • At least five years of relevant work experience
  • PE license in any state with ability to obtain a PE license within six months of start date
  • Experience with military and/or federal projects

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • AutoCAD Civil3D design software
  • Leading the development of plans, specs, reports, cost estimates, and submittal packages for military projects
  • SpecsIntact software
  • PCASE software
  • Project QA/QC including leading design reviews
  • Preparing scopes, fees, and contracts
  • Client management and marketing
  • Mentoring project staff
  • Project management

Salary Range: $96,000 to $140,000 - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
