Job summary

Kustom is seeking an experienced Carpenter to perform advanced carpentry, drywall, painting, and trim work on emergency and non-emergency service projects. The role requires maintaining the company vehicle, preparing sites, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring safety and organization on jobsites.

Candidates should have at least 5 years in construction/restoration, proficiency in drywall/paint/trim, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction/restoration.
• Hands-on experience in drywall, paint, trim and light carpentry.
• Understanding of major trades processes (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in light carpentry, framing, drywall, paint, trim and all aspects of repair that is common with handyman work.
• Prepare rooms / areas for work activities to include setting up staging areas, equipment and content protection.
• Ability to provide direction to subcontractors.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to include securely storing equipment and supplies while not in use.
• Interface with customers and relay information to Project Manager or Superintendent when appropriate.
• Complete paperwork, upload documents, and provide job updates into database as needed.
• Complete punch list items with attention to detail.
• Maintain equipment in clean and working condition.
• Ensure the company vehicle is fully stocked at all times and travel to a nearby home improvement store to purchase needed items.
• Monitor the safety, security, efficiency, and appearance of the company vehicle.
• Monitor the safety, security and appearance of job sites.
• Assist with demolition and general clean up as needed.
