Job Purpose:
The Home Access Laborer II is responsible for completing construction and installation projects to improve accessibility, managing subcontractor schedules, and overseeing project work sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general remodeling tasks such as decks, landings, doorway widening, grab bar installation, and technical installations like power door openers or bathroom modifications.
- Mentor and train Level I Laborers and subcontractors on-site.
- Assist Construction Manager in developing and maintaining subcontractor lists.
- Review plans and specifications for feasibility, code compliance, and resource requirements.
- Produce quotes and coordinate with designers/sales for profitable proposals.
- Ensure timely project completion and coordinate material purchases and labor requirements.
- Maintain tools, storage, and supplies, and oversee product receiving and sorting.
- Record services and follow up with clients, ensuring HIPAA, safety, and code compliance.
- Participate in training and certification courses.
- Supervise construction staff and subcontractors, ensuring proper job prep and resource availability.
- Follow all applicable codes, regulations, and Numotion standards on-site.
- Build relationships with potential referrals and identify opportunities for services and equipment.
- Uphold Numotion's principles of integrity, compliance, and customer service excellence.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in light construction and handyman work.
- At least 1 year of experience managing construction projects or assistive technology modifications.
- Ability to interpret scaled drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of material pricing, labor rates, and work practices.
- Understanding of code and permit regulations.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing construction quotes and customer service.
- City of Omaha Class D Contractor's license or equivalent.
- OSHA 10-hour training and Lead-Based Paint Certification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities and proficiency with PC software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move equipment over 100 lbs.
- Mobility to access all work areas.
- Prolonged standing, climbing, kneeling, squatting, walking, and crawling.
- Effective communication skills and flexibility to work overtime.
