Job summary

QXO is seeking a hands-on Carpenter to join our residential construction crew in Joliet, IL. You will measure, cut, and install components for new home construction, read blueprints, and work with a team to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality on every project.

Ideal candidates have carpentry experience, proficiency with hand and power tools, and a strong focus on craftsmanship. The role supports both framing and finish carpentry, with physical labor involved in indoor/outdoor environments.

As a new home construction Carpenter, you will be responsible for building, assembling, and installing residential construction components that support new home construction and remodeling projects. This hands on role requires experience reading blueprints, measuring and cutting materials, and safely operating hand and power tools to complete framing, structural, and finish carpentry tasks. You'll work closely with a residential carpentry crew to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. What you’ll do:

• Dependable, organized, and able to follow instructions
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or related environments
• Familiarity with material handling equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy materials as required (up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 80 lbs)
• Ability to perform work in indoor and/or outdoor environments, depending on the role
