Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Cardiac Sonographer for a part-time role in Miami Beach, FL.

The candidate will verify orders, perform echocardiograms across multiple locations, and maintain high productivity with accurate documentation. Responsibilities include selecting settings for 2D, Doppler, Stress echo, and 3D imaging, distinguishing normal from abnormal findings, and reporting results to physicians.

Qualifications

• RDCS or RCS certification is required.
• Graduate of an approved ultrasound program with emphasis in adult echocardiography is required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in adult and transesophageal echocardiography; knowledge of stress and contrast echocardiography.

Responsibilities

• Verifies orders and patient information prior to exam.
• Performs echocardiograms in various locations throughout the hospital; portable, in the department, etc.
• Takes initiative to complete exams to achieve maximum productivity of the department.
• Maintains productivity and efficiency; completes exams within appropriate time frame and keeps clinical appointments on time.
• Selects appropriate frequencies and settings to optimize 2D, Doppler, Stress echo and 3D images.
• Differentiates normal and abnormal structures and provides accurate technical impressions of pathology observed.
• Reports critical values to physicians and management as required.
• Assists physicians with transesophogeal echocardiogram and adjusts settings to optimize images.

Completes exams within appropriate time frame and assures that clinical appointments are kept on time.* Selects appropriate frequencies and settings to fully optimize 2D, Doppler, Stress echo and 3D images. EKG signals clear, images well aligned and on axis, appropriate scales and speed utilized.* Differentiates normal and abnormal structures and provides accurate technical impressions of pathology observed. Reports critical values to physicians and management as required.* Adheres to departmental protocol and assures that sufficient anatomy and accurate measurements are documented to provide a diagnosis.* Demonstrates knowledge and skill when assisting physicians with transesophogeal echocardiogram. Appropriately adjusts setting to optimize images prior to capture.* Administers contrast agents according to departmental policies and procedures. Obtains diagnostic, well enhanced images to the satisfaction of the interpreting physician.* Completes stress echoes according to departmental protocol. Captures optimal images within required timeframe pre and post exercise. Places EKG leads and obtains necessary documentation prior to exercise.* Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of 3D echo. Able to measure volumes and ejection fraction with 3D echo.## Qualifications* ### License/Registration/Certification + RDCS or RCS certification required.* ### Education + Graduate of an approved ultrasound program with emphasis in adult echocardiography or graduate of a foreign Medical School* ### Experience + Minimum of 2 years experience in adult and transesophageal echocardiography.
