In addition to delivering exceptional guest service, you will create beautiful cake art and provide sweets that become the highlight of our guests' celebrations. Job Description

• Experience Required: Completion of job-specific skills assessment; 6 to 12 months experience or successful completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program.
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required.
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds.
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age.

Job Responsibilities

• Fill tables and cases with cakes by transporting products from the prep area to the sales area.
• Follow proper procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and impress guests.
• Take special orders from guests in person and over the phone.
• Maintain product quality by checking sales area for freshness and proper dates.
• Record daily known losses accurately.
• Prioritize safety for team members, guests, and products in all tasks.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, assisting with product location, answering questions, and making suggestions.
• Inspire colleagues and guests with a passion for food and a commitment to excellence.
• Handle products and equipment following food safety and safety guidelines to ensure a safe shopping environment.
• Keep equipment, tables, utensils, and floors clean to meet sanitation standards.
• Prepare and decorate cakes and products for display, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures, including emergency protocols and housekeeping.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Adhere to department procedures, including product rotation, order taking, and understanding copyright policies.
• Stay updated on new products, procedures, and seasonal items.
• Ice and decorate cakes using icing, spatulas, and icing bags.
• Prepare icing and decorating products following recipes and measuring ingredients.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and maintaining backroom, cooler, and freezer efficiency.
• Operate department equipment such as mixers, scales, airbrush guns, and knives.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
