Job summary

Martin's Super Markets in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Cake Decorator to prepare and decorate products for delivery to store locations. Basic decorating skills include icing, writing with icing, and making roses; starting wage is $17.00-$19.00, with early starts around 6am and some 9am-5:30pm shifts.

Education required is a High School Diploma or GED; decorating experience is preferred but not required. Schedule typically Monday, Wednesday through Saturday, with Sundays off; overtime is frequent

Cake Decorator

Reports to: Cake Room Manager and Central Bakery Manager

Job Profile: Clerk 3, Cake Decorator-Central Bakery

Business Title: Cake Decorator-Central Bakery

Position Summary:

Responsible for preparing and decorating products for delivery to the store locations. General knowledge of cake decorating: Icing, writing with icing, and making roses. Follow safe, sanitary food handling policy to prevent contamination and food borne illnesses.

Starting Wage:

$17.00-$19.00 (based on experience)

Start Time:

Normally 6am with some close shifts of 9am-5:30pm

Monday, Wednesday-Saturday (Sunday and Tuesday Off)

Overtime frequent and required

Schedule may change on production needs and holidays

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Experience:

No experience required. Decorating experience preferred.

Qualifications:

Basic math and reading skills, ability to follow directions and work in a fast-paced environment. Flexible work schedule, weekend availability, occasional Tuesday, Sunday, and holidays are required.

Physical requirements:

Ability to lift up to 30+ lbs. Read and understands pass-out sheets along with understanding Special Orders. Be able to work independently and with others. Requires constant bending, stretching, pulling/pushing and good eye/hand coordination, repetitive wrist motion.

Other Duties:

Clean work areas, take out trash, mop floors, restock packaging and labels. Varies according to production needs, occasionally may have to work in other production areas.

Environmental Conditions:

Exposed to constant indoor temperatures of 75 degrees or higher, freezer temperatures of 32 degrees or below.

Noise: loud machines. Chemicals: cleaning solutions.
