Waterkotte Mullis Moreno & Garles, PC in Encino, CA, seeks an experienced Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with 5–10+ years of California civil litigation experience who can manage an active caseload from inception through resolution. This hybrid/remote-friendly position offers meaningful responsibility and sophisticated litigation work, with a competitive compensation package and strong benefits.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of California civil litigation experience.
Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
Ability to manage an active caseload with limited supervision.
Strong research, analysis, and writing skills.
Experience with depositions and law-and-motion practice.

Responsibilities

Independently manage cases from evaluation through trial or settlement.
Develop case strategy and provide exposure and settlement evaluations.
Draft and argue dispositive and other motions.
Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, experts, and PMQ.
Manage written discovery and discovery disputes.
Retain and collaborate with experts.
Prepare for mediation and participate in settlement negotiations.
Make court appearances and handle law-and-motion matters.
Prepare cases for trial and serve as trial counsel as appropriate.
Communicate with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, experts, and professionals.
