Job summary

The Boeing Company in Charleston is seeking an Experienced C-17 Product Repair/Modifications Technician to support the C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program. The role is based at Joint Base Lindsey Graham and requires hands-on repair and modification of complex aerospace systems.

You will read blueprints, interpret wiring diagrams, perform testing, and ensure flight-worthiness. Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally, with potential extended assignments, and you must pass

Qualifications

• Must be willing and capable of travel domestically and internationally 50% with short notice and for extended periods; must obtain and possess a current passport.
• Willing and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to enter confined spaces with an entry opening of 10"x18".
• Experience reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience working with aircraft wiring diagrams and in aircraft repair, maintenance and retrofit processes.

The Boeing Company islooking for an Experienced C-17 Product Repair/Modifications Technician in direct support of C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program within Boeing Global Services. The position is located at Joint Base Lindsey Graham.

Position Responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble and/or modify systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair complex aircraft avionics, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and blueprints
• Assembles, terminates, repairs, and installs wiring harnesses electrical system components
• Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components
• Follows procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results)
• Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
• Works under general direction
• Must be able to pass Ground Operations Personnel (GOP) and air respirator medical physicals and maintain qualification/certification

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Must be willing and capable of travel both domestically and internationally 50% – with short notice and for extended periods, anywhere in the world and for potentially extended periods of time. (Must obtain and possess current passport).
• Willing and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be ableenterin confined spaces with an entry opening of 10\"X18”.
• Experience working from heights & using fall protection equipment with personal weight limitations of 225lb or lower.
• 3+ years' experience having the ability to read, understand, and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• 3+years' experience working with aircraft wiring diagrams,
• 3+ years' experience in aircraft repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Airframe & Powerplant License.
• Prefer knowledge of live aircraft operations, to include pneumatic, hydraulic, avionic, electrical, flight controls, and propulsion systems operations.
• Minimum 3 years C-17 platform experience preferred
• Ability to read, interpret and understand C-17 blueprints and USAF Technical Orders.
• Prefer C-17 multi-system operations, maintenance and repair experience including pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems
• Experience with aircraft recovery operations.
• Ability to work safely within complicated schedules and establish criteria and work procedures to achieve a high level of quality, productivity, or service
• Aircraft documentation
