Job summary

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Depot Level/Heavy General maintenance experience.
• 10+ years of experience with various aircraft exterior and interior systems including hydraulic, flight control, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines.
• 10+ years of experience in working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.
• 10+ years of experience accessing computer aircraft data systems.
• Ability to work variable shifts including weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform flight controls installation, removal and rigging; service landing gear.
• Carry out essential component changes such as servo pumps, filters and engine components.
• Read and interpret drawings, orders, specs and retrofit requirements for modifications.
• Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.
• Maintain required certifications, licenses and permits for the work.
• Prioritize workload to meet project schedules.
• Use Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems to ensure safety.
• Operate equipment per procedures.
• Assist other teams to meet cost/schedule targets.
• Diagnose and correct malfunctions in assembly processes.
• Use precision instruments to check dimensions and conformance.
• Ascend/descend ladders, work in confined spaces, lift ~35 pounds.

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for Experienced General Repair and Modification Technicians to join our B-52 team in San Antonio, TX.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform efforts associated with flight controls installation, removal and rigging. Landing gear and servicing of aircraft
• Perform essential component change outs for example servo pumps, filters and engine components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification/repair.
• Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests
• Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work
• Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects
• Use Hazardous Energy and Lock Out /Tag systems applications to ensure working environment is deemed safe for access and on the job performance
• Use all equipment in accordance with established safety and operating procedures
• Assist other team members (Avionics, Structures, Electrics) to ensure cost/schedule targets are met
• Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes.
• Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, tools, etc., necessary to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirements
• Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds

This position requires the ability to pass an assessment during the training cycle

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 10+ years of experience Depot Level/Heavy General maintenance
• 10+ years of experience with various aircraft exterior and interior systems including hydraulic, flight control, monuments, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines
• 10+ years of experience in working with blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures
• 10+ years of experience accessing computer aircraft data systems
• Ability to work variable shifts including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• General familiarization experience with B-52 aircraft
• Experience performing aircraft engine runs, and engine borescope inspections.
• Operate an aircraft tug/tow vehicle, forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment

Summary Pay Rate: $83,400 / $40.10 per hour

Additive Pay:

$1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification

$1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification
