The candidate will perform routine maintenance, keep precise logs, and respond to emergencies to prevent downtime. A valid NJ Black Seal license and a driver’s license are required, with a strong focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Valid Black Seal Boiler Operator License (high or low pressure) required.
• New Jersey Driver's License required.
• Experience with stationary boilers and boiler room equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fires stationary boilers to supply steam for heating plants and power generation.
• Regulates stokers and oil burners for boiler fuel.
• Operates and tunes feed pump governors and pressure gauges.
• Maintains boiler water level and boiler fires at efficient heat.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on grate units, tubes, and related components.
• Records fuel use, pressures, temperatures, and steam flow.
• Makes emergency repairs to keep equipment in good operating condition.
• Makes minor repairs and cleans boiler areas to keep them safe.
• Uses recording systems for boiler room data.
• Becomes familiar with operation of blowers, motors, and regulators and reports issues.
