Swickard Auto Group seeks an experienced Mercedes-Benz technician for Mercedes-Benz of Palo Alto in Palo Alto, CA. This full-time role offers a competitive $37–$60 per hour flat-rate, paid factory training, and a clear path to advanced MBZ certification in a high-volume luxury store.

You will diagnose and repair vehicles across a full range of systems, perform multi-point inspections, document work precisely, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while upholding the brand's high standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of dealership technician experience.
• Mercedes-Benz or European luxury brand experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic skills for complex, multi-system problems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• ASE certifications are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Mercedes-Benz vehicles across a full range of systems using XENTRY, STAR, and OEM procedures.
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans.
• Execute repairs to factory specifications with speed, accuracy, and quality.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Diagnose and repair Mercedes-Benz vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, advanced electrical, suspension, HVAC, ADAS, and beyond -- using XENTRY, STAR, and OEM diagnostic procedures
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors to support guest authorization
• Execute repairs to Mercedes-Benz factory specifications with speed, accuracy, and zero shortcuts
• Complete repair orders accurately -- documenting all work performed, diagnostic findings, and parts used with precision
• Stay current on Mercedes-Benz technical service bulletins, software updates, and evolving repair procedures
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation that reflects the standard of the Mercedes-Benz brand
• Contribute to a shop culture where diagnostic excellence, quality craftsmanship, and professionalism are the baseline

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of dealership technician experience -- Mercedes-Benz or European luxury brand experience strongly preferred
• Strong diagnostic foundation -- comfortable working through complex, multi-system problems methodically and accurately
• Mercedes-Benz or European platform experience: BMW, Audi, Porsche, Volvo, or Land Rover backgrounds welcome -- your diagnostic skills transfer and we'll invest in your MBZ certification
• XENTRY or STAR diagnostic platform experience preferred -- or equivalent European diagnostic tool proficiency
• ASE certifications a strong plus -- Mercedes-Benz factory certifications highly valued
• Low comeback rate and a personal quality standard that doesn't require managing
• Physically capable of performing the demands of the role throughout the shift
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
