Job summary

Swickard Auto Group’s Gresham Toyota service team seeks an experienced automotive technician in the Portland area. You will diagnose, repair, and service Toyota vehicles at a high-retention, flat-rate shop with comprehensive training and growth opportunities.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, dealership background, and a strong diagnostic foundation. Toyota Techstream usage and ongoing training support are provided. Applies to candidates in the Portland metro area.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive technician or mechanic experience.
• Dealership experience preferred or strong independent shop background.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Toyota vehicles across systems using Toyota Techstream and OEM procedures.
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop repair plans with service advisors.
• Execute repairs to Toyota OEM specifications with speed and accuracy.
• Document diagnostic findings and completed work on repair orders.
• Stay current on Toyota service bulletins and software updates.
• Conduct test drives to validate repairs before vehicle return.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Diagnose and repair Toyota vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAC, and beyond -- using Toyota Techstream and OEM diagnostic procedures
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors so guests receive complete, honest recommendations
• Execute repairs to Toyota OEM specifications with speed, accuracy, and consistent quality
• Document all diagnostic findings and completed work accurately on repair orders
• Stay current on Toyota technical service bulletins, software updates, and manufacturer repair procedures
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of automotive technician or mechanic experience -- required
• Dealership technician experience strongly preferred -- familiarity with dealership RO processes, DMS documentation standards, and warranty repair procedures is a meaningful advantage
• Toyota or Japanese brand experience a strong plus -- Techstream familiarity and Toyota factory certifications reflected in rate
• ASE certifications preferred -- candidates actively pursuing certification encouraged to apply
• Strong diagnostic foundation with a track record of accurate first-time repairs and a low comeback rate
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
