Job summary

Hertrich Family of Automobile Dealerships is seeking an Experienced Automotive Service Advisor/Assistant Service Manager for full-time employment in Newark, Delaware. Grow with one of the region’s best dealership groups, delivering high-quality service experiences from check-in to completion.

You will greet customers, manage inbound calls, schedule timelines, present estimates, coordinate with technicians, and support daily service operations.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' experience as an Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer or 1+ year as an Assistant Service Manager.
• Proven customer service and sales/up-selling skills.
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
• Comfortable with computers and dealership service systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a professional, high-quality service experience from check-in to completion.
• Greet service customers and manage inbound service calls.
• Schedule appointments and communicate service timelines.
• Present repair and maintenance estimates clearly and confidently.
• Coordinate repair orders with Technicians and monitor workflow.
• Recommend additional services when appropriate.
• Support daily service operations and administrative processes.

What You'll Do:

What We're Looking For:

• 2-3 years' experience as an Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer OR 1+ year as an Assistant Service Manager
• Proven customer service and sales/up-selling skills
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
• Comfortable with computers and dealership service systems
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license with a clean or near-clean driving record
• Flexible availability, including evenings and Saturdays
