Job summary

Basin Run Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant, RVT, or RVT student to join our AAHA-accredited three-doctor team. The role offers a starting wage of $20/hour, negotiable by experience and licensure, with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, about 36 hours per week and no weekend shifts.

What Our Veterinary Assistants & Technicians Do

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and procedures
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and fluid therapy
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs
• Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during surgical and dental procedures
• Provide compassionate nursing care, including TPRs, pain assessments, wound care, and patient monitoring
• Practice Fear Free and Low Stress Handling techniques to create positive patient experiences
• Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Help maintain clean, organized treatment and exam areas
• Collaborate with teammates to provide exceptional patient care and an efficient workflow
