The Position

We seek an Experienced Asphalt Plant Operator to operate, maintain, and repair asphalt production equipment. Under the Foreman's supervision, you'll help ensure the production of high-quality asphalt mix, learning to operate various construction equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment
• Maintain a clean work site, including shoveling, sweeping, and skid steer operation
• Monitor equipment to ensure consistent flow and quality of asphalt mix
• Load trucks for material distribution using computerized systems
• Assist in equipment maintenance, including replacing wear components and fabricating parts
• Work on elevated platforms and in confined spaces
• Monitor material gradations and moisture content for consistency
• Verify asphalt quality through testing and ensure compliance with specifications
• Operate equipment such as welders, torches, pneumatic tools, loaders, lifts, and trucks

Candidate Requirements

• 5+ years relevant experience
• Valid Driver's License with a clean record
• Punctual, dependable, and flexible with working hours
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, dusty environments, and at heights over 50'
• Mechanical and fabricating skills, with repair experience
• Strong communication skills
• High School diploma or GED
• Union membership or willingness to join
