Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking an Associate Experience Design Specialist to lead a small UX team and develop research-based, user-centered design solutions for complex technical challenges. You’ll collaborate closely with development and project teams to ensure implementations reflect the designed UX.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior designers, applying user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing within an Agile environment. On-site work at the Spring, TX campus is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic design, UX design, Human Factors, HCI, Information science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in UX or related field.
• Experience leading a small team of UX resources across projects.
• Proven experience leading UX design projects from concept to completion including user research, wireframes, prototyping, and usability testing.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior designers in a collaborative environment.
• Experience working with product managers and developers to deliver user-centric solutions.
• Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, teamwork, and eagerness to learn.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working on an Agile software team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of UX designers and researchers, managing work intake and coordinating timelines with stakeholders and project teams.
• Design innovative solutions that increase user productivity and simplify complex tools.
• Incorporate research findings into designs and iterate based on feedback.
• Communicate designs through sketches, wireframes, and prototypes as needed.
• Collaborate with designers to critique designs and align with upstream design language.
• Maintain project velocity and adapt to changing business needs.
