The Expeditor Technician is a crucial member of our Lamination Team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and continuous flow of glass through the lamination lines. This role supports production efficiency by coordinating materials and assisting team members in building high-quality laminated products. The Expeditor Technician will also step in to assist with hands-on lamination tasks as needed.

Description

The Expeditor Technician is a crucial member of our Lamination Team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and continuous flow of glass through the lamination lines. This role supports production efficiency by coordinating materials and assisting team members in building high-quality laminated products. The Expeditor Technician will also step in to assist with hands-on lamination tasks as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Stage and feed the lamination line with scheduled orders and pull empty racks out of the line.
  • Remove all plastic and cardboard from glass racks and strap cargo strap to be ready for on-loaders.
  • Remove racks as they are emptied, stack them and relocate them to the shipping area
  • Transport full cullet boxes from process areas to the designated storage area and replace with empty boxes.
  • Transport vinyl scrap gaylords that are full to the designated storage area and replace them with an empty container.
  • Transport all recycling gaylords that are full to the designated storage area and replace with a new one that is empty.
  • Empty internal trash dumpsters throughout the facility into the commercial dumpster for removal.
  • Pull racks from the Cutting area.
  • Stack partial racks in the designated storage area.
  • Return empty vinyl boxes to the designated storage trailer.
  • Transport scrap wood to the designated wood dumpster.
  • Throughout the shift and at the end of each shift the Expeditor shall update the inventory of glass.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Physical Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic math, computer, and tape-measuring skills.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend information displayed on the shop floor monitor.
  • Must be able to meet production standards and rates.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions, including:
    • Lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly.
    • Bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, or standing for extended periods.
Ideal Candidate

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and support wherever needed.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or lamination is a plus but not required.

Schedule

  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 3:30pm/ Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 3:30pm

Dress Code / Protective Gear

  • Required Attire: Long denim/work pants and steel/composite metatarsal guard leather boots.
  • Protective Equipment:
    • Safety glasses must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
    • Arm guards and gloves are required when handling glass.
    • Additional protective equipment must be used as required by specific tasks or safety protocols.
