Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. is seeking an Expeditor in Statesville to support production with correct supplies, tools and equipment. You will help with machine set-up, deliver print plates, cutting dies and ink, and monitor tooling integrity, while organizing storage and maintaining clean work areas.

The role requires at least 3 years in corrugated manufacturing, plus a high school diploma or GED. Applicants with prior corrugated experience are preferred.

• Reads a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Understands high school math concepts used on the job.
• Follows and enforces quality standards and specs.

Responsibilities

• Assist production by supplying print plates, cutting dies and ink.
• Support machine set-up with correct tools and materials.
• Monitor and report tooling damage; take corrective action.
• Repair print plates and cutting dies as needed.
• Keep ink racks, die racks and plates organized; maintain housekeeping.

Expeditor -Statesville

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Tooling Expeditor is responsible for supporting production with correct supplies, tools and equipment.

• Support machine set up by supplying print plates, cutting dies and ink
• Monitor, report and control all tooling damage
• Ability to work and repair print plates and cutting dies
• Flexibility to work on converting machines when required
• Organize ink racks, die racks, print plates and keep up with housekeeping

Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience working in corrugated manufacturing plant as tooling or production support

Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Adheres to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.

• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED.

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
