Job summary

Powell is seeking a Materials Expeditor to manage a series of commodities and/or services, ensuring requirements are filled in a timely and cost effective manner for assembly operations. You will coordinate with Engineering, Scheduling, Purchasing, Shop and Manufacturing to resolve shortages.

Responsibilities include documenting and tracking shortages, expediting delivery with suppliers, maintaining accurate scheduling in Oracle, processing ECOs and HFDs, closing jobs, and attending weekly

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing / assembly environment.
  • Ability to read and understand MRP reports, stock status reports and customer order shortage report.
  • Knowledge in running queries on the Oracle database and proficient with Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organization skills
  • Must be responsible and dependable
  • Must have demonstrated excellent leadership skills.
  • Attend in house and outside training sessions.
  • Learn policies and procedures, ISO policies, Safety Rules and Regulations, and vendor products.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Hold For Disposition (HFD) and lost part requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process job closing procedures in a timely fashion ensuring all discrete jobs are closed and all material is issued.
  • Collect and maintain data for the generation of Production Control Metrics.
  • Attend weekly production meetings.
  • Follow all safety rules on shop floor.
