Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking an Expeditor in Huntington Beach to move jobs through the shop floor, coordinating priorities and expediting material, labor, and tooling to meet delivery commitments.

You will document status in the ERP system, support recovery plans for late orders, and collaborate with operators and supervisors to maintain workflow and on-time performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• At least 2 years in manufacturing/production environment.
• Understanding of routings, travelers, and shop floor operations.
• Experience with an ERP system.
• Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Ability to assist with process improvement.
• Ability to work directly with operators and supervisors.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Forklift certification; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Moves parts through the shop floor based on completed job operations.
• Expedites jobs delayed by material, labor, tooling, or quality issues.
• Coordinates production priorities with supervisors and planners.
• Reports completed operations promptly in the ERP system and ensures travelers are stamped.
• Communicates job status updates to the Production Control Planning Team.
• Supports recovery plans for late or high-priority orders.
• Assists with part staging, job sequencing, and re-prioritization.
• Identifies production bottlenecks and escalates issues that may impact delivery.

This role is part of our Hypersonics and Strategic Missile Defense business, which designs, develops, and delivers highly dependable missile systems for hypersonic and strategic missile defense missions. We provide integrated, mission-ready hardware that brings together multiple technologies into unified systems engineered to perform in demanding operational environments. Our tip-to-tail capabilities include payload protection and deployment systems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic interstage systems, separation systems, missile subsystems, shroud systems, launch systems, and payload integration solutions.

The Expeditor keeps production jobs moving efficiently through the shop floor by coordinating priorities, resolving material, labor, tooling, and quality constraints, and communicating job status across production teams. This role helps maintain workflow, support recovery plans for delayed or high-priority orders, and keep work-in-process moving to meet delivery commitments.

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing and walking for at least 8 hours.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds, typically 35 pounds.
• Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
• Prolonged periods of repetitive movement.
• Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands.
• Occasional ascending and descending stairs or ramps.
• Occasional extending of the arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level, and below shoulder level.
