Job Summary

Perform project or site expediting activities: contact suppliers, interpret production schedules, prepare critical item reports, provide early warnings of delays or deficiencies, monitor supplier quality, and trace missing material. Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

Major Responsibilities

• Carry out complex expediting activities on a project, support office, or jobsite to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Contact suppliers to obtain engineering data and follow-up on material acquisition, production progress, and shipment.
• Interpret production schedules and progress reports to verify realism and maintain activity interface.
• Coordinate with planning, scheduling, field material coordinators, or jobsite project expeditors and construction to establish priorities, sequences, and delivery dates, and instruct suppliers accordingly.
• Expedite Bechtel engineering for timely review, approval, and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers.
• Participate in pre- and post-award meetings to review schedules and identify potential problem areas that may affect shipment dates.
• Coordinate shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative.

Education and Experience Requirements

Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience, or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

• Ability to complete tasks in a complex and efficient manner.
• Handles difficult assignments that require judgment and initiative.
• Understands implications of work and makes solution recommendations.
• Minimal supervision, independent judgment.

• Mentors less experienced team members and supports supervisors.
• Knowledge of Excel and Word; familiarity with EBS ETA (Bechtel BSAP Platform).
• Basic administrative skills and knowledge of industrial equipment related to mining sector.
• Basic or technical English proficiency.
