Job summary

CABVI is seeking an Expediter to ensure timely material, labor, and space support for manufacturing processes. The role moves materials to the correct workstations, stages raw materials, and maintains organized storage while following safety protocols.

You will assist with labeling, inventory control, and coordinating with supervisors to keep production flowing efficiently in a climate-controlled plant environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed to operate a forklift and clamp trucks.
• Ability to inspect products, complete forms and check components.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:The expeditor is responsible for providing any emergent need for materials, labor or space required to complete a manufacturing process in a timely manner. The expeditor is also responsible for assuring all raw material and finished goods are in specified locations and ready for use in production or shipping as appropriate.Position Accountabilities:Stages and moves material to workstations in all departments as directed by the Director of Manufacturing or Supervisors as designated by the Director of Manufacturing.Provide support labor as directed by the Director of Manufacturing or Supervisors as designated by the Director of Manufacturing.Relocate in-process work to new workstations as each process is completed.Stages and picks raw material in accordance with manufacturing order picklists.Responsible for moving raw material and finished goods to assigned or necessary locations. Labels boxes.Perform machine turnovers as required.Keeps aisleways and staging areas clear for forklift traffic.Relocate and organize items received in material storage areas as needed.Performs other tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned.Sight required.Minimum Requirements:Qualifications: (including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, licenses, certifications, and other characteristics)Licensed or licensable to operate a Forklift and Clamp Trucks.Ability to inspect products, complete forms and check components.Must have basic math skills, strong organizational skills to maintain shipping documents and inventories daily.Ability to accurately and efficiently enter order information into bar code system.Must be able to work independently and multi-taskAbility to work independently and with other team members.Ability to navigate independently to and from workstation, bathrooms and break area.Must be able to enter the building and navigate to workstation independently.Physical Demands:Sight required to drive forklifts, clamp trucks, and hand pallet movers.Must be able to stand for the entirety of the shift.Must be able to walk, bend, twist and reach in all directions.Must have the ability to utilize two hands.Must be able to independently lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and up to 85 lbs occasionally.Visual acuity to inspect and repair machine components and utilize precision measurement and calibration tools.Ability to continually move throughout the facility and production areas.Work Environment:Indoor, climate-controlled, industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to high levels of noise. Frequent exposure to dust, dirt, oils, cleaning fluids, blades and other hazardous materials. May require outdoor exposure to weather elements including heat, cold and precipitation.In accordance with CABVI’s Hearing Conservation Program and OSHA’s standards for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), approved hearing protection must be worn at all times while in the tape and paper rooms with the exception of break and meal periods.Safety glasses are to be worn while on the production floor, where applicableSafety steel toe or composite toe shoes are to be worn while on the production floor, this includes all areas.This position may require working outside of normal operational hours and during shut down periods.CABVI is an EEO M/F/Disabled/Veteran employer.
