Job summary

Gourmet Gorilla Inc. is seeking an Expediter/Packer to join our foodservice team. The role focuses on receiving and staging items, packing cold foods, and assisting with delivery logistics in a refrigerated setting.

Shift: Monday–Friday, 5am–1pm in Goose Island, Chicago. Pay ranges from $17.50 to $19.50 per hour, starting immediately based on experience. Flexibility to deliver if needed and strong attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow instruction.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements.
• Flexible and able to work under pressure in a dynamic kitchen.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Clean background check.
• Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment.

Gourmet Gorilla, founded in 2009, strives for a sustainable future for our children by providing local and organic school lunches and healthier eating options.

Duties:

• Receive food items from kitchen staff & stage for following day deliveries


• Organize and pack cold food items


• Assist in expediting & checking out delivery drivers


• Troubleshoot expediting issues as they arise.


• Able to deliver if needed


• Closing out at the end of each day: making sure everything has been prepared, labeled correctly, and staged for delivery

Job Details

• Days: Monday – Friday 5am-1pm


• Location: Goose Island (Division and Halsted Area)


• Pay: $17.50-$19.50/hour start depending on experience


• Start: Immediately
