Continental is seeking a Material Handler to ensure the orderly, timely flow of materials on the plant floor and to coordinate transfers between production areas and inventory. You will perform tasks per organizational instructions and ISO safety standards.

Responsibilities include staging, packing, shipping support, keeping the work area clean, and assisting with Kanban and scheduling to ensure product availability.

Qualifications

• 1 year in manufacturing (Internal Employee Only)
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and verbal)
• Mechanical aptitude with good manual dexterity
• Understanding of production flows and work-center procedures
• Ability to meet quality and production standards

Responsabilités

• Ensure uninterrupted material flow across all lines and shifts.
• Assemble orders and prepare materials for shipment.
• Verify outgoing shipments using shipping records.
• Maintain a neat, orderly work area and comply with policies.
• Assist in Kanban planning with material supervisor to ensure availability.
• Coordinate transfers of finished materials between production areas and inventory.
• Perform other duties as assigned and assist with vacations/absences.

Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Ensure orderly, timely and correct flow of materials on the plant floor to keep plant operations working as efficiently as possible and prevent production line stoppage. Coordinates the transfer of finished materials and products between various production areas and inventory. To perform assigned tasks and functions in accordance with organizational instructions, established safety procedures and ISO standards.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

• Ensure uninterrupted material flow across all lines and shifts through staging, kitting, and transfer of material. Communicate status of material readiness to all relevant stakeholders.
• Support the production efforts to increase to product flow through the plant;
• Assembles orders and helps prepare materials and products for shipment;
• Use shipping records to verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments and orders;
• Ensure all unplanned moves are transacted correctly, whether written or electronically.
• Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion;
• Comply with all company labor policies;
• Actively participate in company betterment activities;
• Take advantage of opportunities to develop self;
• Perform any other duties as assigned or required;
• Packaging of and delivering products to the shipping area for daily (DIA) type orders;
• Ensuring accuracy of orders and assisting with order collection and grouping when they arrive on the dock;
• Developing, maintaining and continually improving a material flow program to assist in the timely and accurate disposition of finished goods.
• Assisting in planning of Kanban levels with material supervisor to ensure products needed are being produced and kept available
• Acts as a contact point for scheduling, FAB and other departments as pertains to product availability and preparedness
• Other material handling duties as needed and substitution or fill in for vacations and absenteeism of others.
• Expeditor categorization will carry out other duties as assigned and will require the ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment; may require weekend work.

• Communication: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and verbal) equivalent to a high school education.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year in manufacturing - Internal Employee Only
• Technical Skills: Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent manual dexterity.
• Process Expertise: Understanding of production flows and work-center procedures.
• Focus: Ability to manage detailed tasks requiring sustained mental concentration.
• Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain forklift and specialized equipment certifications.
• Performance: Ability to meet quality and production standards.
