Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)

Join our team at Bright Direction Dental as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA). We are seeking a skilled and compassionate full-time EFDA to work closely with Dr. Hardin and our team to provide exceptional dental care to our patients.

Schedule

• Mon 8:30 AM - 5 PM
• Tues 8:30 AM - 5 PM
• Wed 8:30 AM - 5 PM
• Thur 7:30 AM - 4 PM

Job Requirements

• EFDA Certification in Indiana
• Assist the dentist during various treatment procedures
• Take and develop dental radiographs
• Gather medical histories, measure blood pressure and pulse
• Serve as infection control officer, develop protocols, sterilize instruments
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after treatments
• Provide post-treatment oral care instructions
• Teach oral hygiene strategies to patients
• Take impressions for study models
• Communicate with patients and suppliers
• Assist in all dental specialties including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and oral surgery
• Perform approved procedures such as amalgam and composite restorations, stainless steel crowns, etc.
• Manage patient flow to optimize scheduling and doctor’s time
