Job summary

Rogers Family Dentistry is seeking an experienced, credentialed EFDA to work as a chairside partner to Dr. Jim Rogers in Cincinnati, OH. The role offers full-time hours, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits.

The ideal candidate will hold Ohio EFDA certification, Ohio RDA licensure with radiography training, CPR certification, and significant EFDA experience in a high-volume practice. Proficiency with Dentrix and digital imaging is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Ohio EFDA certification required and authorized to perform expanded functions under Ohio state dental law.
• Current Ohio RDA licensure including radiation safety and radiography course.
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of general dentistry experience; EFDA experience preferred.
• Dentrix experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform the full scope of EFDA duties under Ohio state law, including restorations and sealants, with precision.
• Serve as chairside partner to Dr. Rogers across procedures.
• Keep patient flow running efficiently and capture high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photos.
• Take precise impressions and perform digital scans.
• Document health histories and treatment data accurately in chart notes.
• Prepare operatories, instruments, and materials for every procedure; maintain sterilization and OSHA compliance.
• Manage dental supply inventory and coordinate with the team on ordering and case preparation.

Expanded Function & Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform the full scope of EFDA authorized duties under Ohio state dental law, including placement and finishing of restorations, sealant application, and other permitted expanded functions, with precision and consistency
• Serve as Dr. Rogers\' dedicated chairside partner across a full range of procedures
• Keep patient flow running efficiently
• Capture high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photos in compliance with Ohio state regulations
• Take precise impressions and perform accurate digital scans
• Review charts, document treatment data during exams, and transcribe clinical notes accurately and thoroughly
• Document health histories and medications, and help patients understand how their overall health connects to their oral care
• Prepare operatories, instruments, and materials for every procedure
• Maintain instrument sterilization and infection control protocols in full compliance with OSHA standards
• Manage dental supply inventory and coordinate with the team on ordering and case preparation

Patient Education & Engagement

• Help patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident about their treatment plans
• Provide post-treatment and post-operative care instructions with clarity and compassion
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in full compliance with HIPAA

Team Contribution

• Collaborate across the multi-provider team and contribute wherever needed with a professional attitude
• Dentrix proficiency applied daily for documentation, scheduling support, and patient records
• Social media enthusiasm is a genuine bonus

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Ohio EFDA certification required; fully authorized to perform expanded functions under Ohio state dental law
• Current Ohio RDA licensure required, including completion of an Ohio-approved radiation safety and radiography course
• Current CPR certification required
• Significant hands-on EFDA experience required
• Minimum 2 years of general dentistry experience strongly preferred; EFDA-specific experience given significant weight
• Dentrix experience strongly preferred
