Job summary

GENTLE DENTIST is seeking an EFDA-qualified dental assistant to support clinicians in delivering high-quality care. The role emphasizes instrument preparation, patient education, and precise seating of restorations.

You will assist dentists and hygienists with diagnostics, prepare treatment rooms, and maintain sterile protocols to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• Certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or equivalent.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Delivers clinically excellent dental care through education and quality treatment.
• Assists dentists and hygienists in quality diagnosis through X-rays, verbal communication, and other dental tests as directed.
• Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area; positioning instruments for the dentist's access; suctioning; and passing instruments.
• Places and finishes permanent restorations, completes preliminary Impressions, makes and polishes temporary crowns, removal temporary crowns, and fitting of permanent crowns and bridges, adjusting occlusions and interproximal areas, application of sealants, and adjusting partials and dentures.
