Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide direct support to dentists, hygienists and other provider personnel in a Kaiser Permanente dental office.

The role requires performing duties under licensed supervision, including radiographs, anesthesia support, sutures, instrument passing, patient education and infection control, with emphasis on accurate record handling and scheduling coordination.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year dental assistant experience or ADA-accredited program graduate.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Oregon certifications: Dental Radiation Proficiency, Pit and Fissure Sealant within 6 months, EFDA within 3 months, BLS within 3 months.
• Final candidate must pass a clinical pre-employment skills test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in dental procedures under licensed provider supervision, including radiographs, anesthesia, sutures and dressings.
• Prepare and pass instruments, maintain sterile field, and manage dental records.
• Explain care and prevention practices to patients and maintain infection control.
• Prepare and take impressions and radiographs; organize patient records.
• Support scheduling and care delivery as needed.
