Dental Metrics Maven in Tarentum, PA is seeking an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our established private practice. The EFDA will work closely with doctors, hygienists and staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate is clinically confident, dependable, and willing to collaborate to create an outstanding patient experience. Prior EFDA/PA credentials and CPR/BLS are required, along with strong restoration and sterilization knowledge.

Qualifications

• Active PA EFDA credential.
• PA radiology certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform EFDA duties within PA law.
• Place and finish restorative materials per EFDA certification.
• Assist doctors during restorative and other procedures.
• Prepare operatories, instruments, materials and equipment.
• Take diagnostic radiographs as permitted.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Review and update patient medical histories.
• Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients.
• Maintain sterilization and OSHA compliance.
• Prepare rooms and support patient flow.
• Monitor supplies and assist with inventory.
• Collaborate with clinical and admin staff.

Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

Location: Tarentum, PA Position Type: Full-Time

Schedule

• Monday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
• Tuesday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am – 1:30pm

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $28–$38/hour, based on experience.
• Annualized Compensation: Approximately $58,240–$79,040/year based on a 40-hour work week.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our established private dental practice in Tarentum, PA.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform expanded function dental assisting duties within the scope permitted by Pennsylvania law.
• Place and finish restorative materials as permitted by EFDA certification.
• Assist doctors during restorative and other dental procedures.
• Prepare operatories, instruments, materials, and equipment for treatment.
• Take diagnostic dental radiographs as permitted.
• Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation.
• Review and update patient medical histories.
• Provide patients with appropriate pre- and post-operative instructions.
• Maintain sterilization, infection control, and OSHA compliance.
• Turn over and prepare treatment rooms to maintain efficient patient flow.
• Monitor clinical supplies and assist with inventory management.
• Work collaboratively with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff.
• Support the clinical team wherever needed to maintain an efficient and positive environment.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) credential.
• Dental radiology certification as required by Pennsylvania.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of restorative procedures and clinical workflows.
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols.
• Excellent communication, organization, and patient service skills.
