Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced dental care services under the direction of a Dentist.
  • Prioritize patient care based on resources, volume, and prognosis.
  • Facilitate patient flow, provide education, explain insurance coverage, and ensure documentation is complete.
  • Assist dentist/hygienist, perform advanced assisting techniques, place restorations, and fit bands/brackets/appliances.
  • Obtain diagnostic dental X-rays following safe radiology practices.
  • Use advanced behavior management techniques for uncooperative patients.
  • Handle administrative duties, schedule visits, and communicate with patients.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
  • BLS-CPR certification required.
  • Dental Radiology License in Indiana required.
  • Certification in Expanded Function Dental Assisting from an accredited program or equivalent on-the-job training with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Preferred: Certification in Caries Prevention and Coronal Polishing.
  • Demonstrate diversity and inclusion skills.
  • Excellent skills in managing apprehensive or difficult children.
  • Ability to work with medically, physically, or cognitively compromised patients and those with special needs or dental fears.
