Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during patient procedures, including preparing patients for treatment, handing instruments, and taking dental impressions.
• Take and process dental X-rays.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and care following dental procedures.
• Manage patient records and document dental treatments.
• Sterilize instruments and equipment, and maintain a clean and organized dental office.
• Assist with laboratory duties, such as pouring and trimming models and fabricating temporary restorations, restoring implants, and using intraoral scanners.
• Maintain dental supplies inventory and order new supplies when necessary.
• Expanded duties include placing fillings, using intraoral scanners, fabricating temporaries, and more as allowed by state law.
