The opportunity
Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time Exhibits Maintenance Technician to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As an Exhibits Maintenance Technician, you will build, install, and operate exhibits and ride systems at the property, performing diagnostic and repair operations to electronic equipment. Individual technician may specialize in specific technology such as audio, video, computer or animation.

What will you do?
- Install new exhibits, renovate, and clean existing exhibits, and replace defective exhibit elements.
- Perform a wide range of trades and operations such as electrical wiring, carpentry, painting, and structure construction.
- Start exhibits, monitor operation, clean and dust electronic components, set color balance on television monitors/projectors, check audio levels, clean electronic connectors, and visually inspect exhibits.
- Conduct system analysis and diagnose malfunctions on electrical equipment and replace assemblies with spare parts relating to electronic equipment, lighting systems, LED assemblies, and drive systems.
- Repair cabinetry and static displays using a wide range of materials including Formica, fiberglass, gluing, soldering, and painting.
- Diagnose and repair PLC and Audio-Visual Systems by reading and understanding schematics.
- Practice good housekeeping by managing a clean and tidy work area.
- Drive a company vehicle around the property.
More about you
- Must be at least 21 years old to apply.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Associate degree in electronics technology/ computer technology or 8 years of equivalent work experience in the maintenance industry.
- Must be familiar with video monitors, projectors, computers, electronic repair, lighting systems, LED technology and audio-visual systems.
- Experience with PLC systems and ride safety/operating systems.
- Some knowledge of electricity and mechanics.
- Computer and Programming Experience.
- Able to read and interpret written information and schematics/plans.
- Able to write and edit exhibit related software.
- This position requires authorization to work at Kennedy Space Center and completion of all site access requirements.
Physical requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Constant standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to remain standing for the entire length of the 8 hour shift.
- Requires working indoors and outdoors in the presence of heat, dirt, dust, fumes, wetness, paint, solvents, and occasional confined spaces.
