Job summary

Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ is seeking an Exhibits Project Manager to oversee logistics, teams, and timelines for physical exhibition installations. You will track budgets, contracts, licensing, and approvals, coordinating communication within and among internal departments and external vendors and partners.

The role reports to the Vice President of Exhibitions and requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to lead multi‑faceted projects from conception

Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple exhibition or creative/technical projects.
• Strong leadership and collaborative work culture.
• Proven ability to manage external partnerships or contractors.
• Creative problem-solving and diplomacy under tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with budget management and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with project teams including developers, designers, media specialists, and contractors to bring exhibition projects to fruition on schedule and within budget.
• Oversee all phases of exhibition development, production, fabrication, installation and post-opening activities.
• Review bid packages and contracts for vendors (fabrication, multimedia, etc.).
• Coordinate project schedules, meeting agendas, and workflow for internal and external teams.
• Track project budgets and process invoices.
• Maintain exhibition project documentation including contracts and licensing.
• Review design drawings and coordination documents (data, lighting, electrical, architectural).
• Ensure quality control through production.
• Develop deliverables for staff, designers, fabricators, media producers, and external partners.
• Help produce standards and processes for project management best practices.
