Job summary

Dallas Zoo Management is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform skilled maintenance and repair work across Zoo facilities, including exhibits and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will support both preventative and corrective maintenance, responding to operational requests and emergency issues effectively.

This role involves coordinating with internal departments and contractors while ensuring that all work is completed with safety and functionality in mind. Candidates must possess a high school diploma, two years of relevant experience, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in maintenance work.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Zoo facilities.
• Respond to work orders and emergency maintenance issues.
• Assist with facility improvement projects and general maintenance.

Skills

Experience in commercial, industrial, or facility maintenance work

Ability to safely operate maintenance tools

Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Education
