Job summary

Encore is seeking a Carpenter I to support the Fabrication Department in Maryland. Under supervision, you will perform basic carpentry on exhibits, cabinetry, and scenery using industrial woodworking machinery and materials according to project drawings.

You will operate multiple woodworking machines, verify measurements for proper alignment, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality. The role requires a HS diploma and 1–3 years of carpentry experience, with a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in basic carpentry.
  • Working knowledge of current production standard operating procedures, safety protocols, materials, and installation methods.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and through computers, apps, and relevant software.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the construction and assembly of carpentry projects into quality exhibits and displays using shop drawings and verbal instructions.
  • Operate woodworking machinery including sliding table saw, compound miter saw, band saw, jointer, planer and hand tools.
  • Verify calculations to ensure alignment of components.
  • Meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
