Job summary

The Wyoming State Museum seeks a Curator of Exhibits to lead the design, curation, and interpretation of exhibits produced by the museum. This role collaborates with staff, volunteers, and partner institutions to create engaging experiences for locals and visitors.

Responsibilities include supervising graphic design, layout, and content development, ensuring accessibility standards, managing budgets, and maintaining exhibit spaces.

Qualifications

• Experience in museum exhibit design and curation preferred.
• Ability to supervise staff and volunteers and coordinate with multiple teams.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with partners and institutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff to curate onsite exhibits and develop interpretive content.
• Design exhibits including 3D renderings, graphics, text panels, and layout.
• Ensure galleries meet accessibility standards and safety requirements.
• Develop interpretive packages with imagery, text, artifacts, and other content.
• Oversee maintenance of exhibits and printing/design equipment; manage budgets.
• Coordinate traveling exhibits program and front-of-house operations during shifts.
