Job summary

Split Rock Studios is hiring a Builders to craft 100% custom exhibit components from CAD drawings and real-world fabrication experience. You will be designing, prototyping, and assembling cabinetry, furniture, and interactive elements for multiple exhibit environments, ensuring durability and accurate vision execution.

You will coordinate with Purchasers, read blueprints, and lead installation teams on-site, often traveling to project locations.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate is self-motivated and able to work independently on deadline-driven projects.
Excellent communication with project team, builders, artists, and clients.
Creative, resourceful, and solution-oriented for 100% custom projects.

Responsibilities

Read and understand building blueprints and detailed construction drawings.
Coordinate with Purchaser to ensure components and materials are acquired before start of construction.
Redline prints and return edits to CAD detailer for revision.
Advise designers on build strategy, durability, and functionality.
Prototype components for exhibit environments.
Set up and test simple electronic components prior to on-site installation.
Measure, cut and assemble cabinetry, furniture, and mechanical interactives from CAD drawings.
Process and assemble CNC parts as needed.
Evaluate components for ease of installation and troubleshoot with PM.
Travel to job site to measure buildings and install exhibits.
