Concord Hospital Health System is seeking an Exercise Specialist to join their Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. This role involves working closely with registered nurses to assist patients in regaining functional abilities and adopting heart-healthy lifestyles. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and have leadership skills in group exercise.
The successful candidate will document patient data, complete evaluations, and provide individual and group education as part of their responsibilities. Experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
The Exercise Specialist works with the registered nurse to conduct the Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Treatment and education is provided in the areas of deficit to assist patients in safely regaining functional abilities and adopting a heart-healthy lifestyle. The Exercise Specialist also conducts/supervises Cardiac and Pulmonary Maintenance Exercise Program classes.
Four years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Bachelors Degree).
Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association.
One year of experience as an Exercise Specialist preferred. Must possess knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
